In this acrylic workshop taught by Ellen Sklar-Abbott, students will be taken through the process of creating a unique and luminous landscape painting. Students will work from a photo, either their own or one the instructor provides, and, depending upon the studeBnts’ experience, will learn about the basics required for studio landscape painting. Students will also be introduced to sketching, creating value scales, and using the primary colors plus black and white to make a painting that is harmonious and appears 3-dimensional. By the end of the workshop, students will have at least made some progress on their paintings, while others may leave with a finished piece. Ellen Sklar-Abbott is an accomplished artist painting in oils, acrylics, watercolors, and gouache, and a working illustrator with a degree in Design. She has painted for 35 years, has a multitude of private collectors and history of exhibiting her work professionally.
