Andrea provided a wonderful experience. Even though I’m not a beginner artist, I learned quite a few things and lots of ideas to try in my own work. Mixing dirt into your work-who knew? Andrea is a natural people person and teacher. It usually takes me a bit to warm up to people I don’t know, but I felt like I’d known her for years within a few minutes.

Andrea was a very experienced instructor and the class was a lot of fun! I would definitely take another class with her next time I’m in Santa Fe. The class size was small and those with questions or needing help could get the attention they needed. Andrea encouraged us to experiment with the methods, materials and techniques that were demonstrated. She creates a very supportive environment. We never felt our work was being “judged” again others’ efforts. I was very pleased with the course!

Ellen is an outstanding landscape teacher. She understands color, composition, and clearly communicates that to her students. Her style is warm, patient, and inviting, and I felt comfortable and encouraged the entire time. I was surprised how easy it was to create a decent little landscape painting! I would definitely study with her again!

Quality instruction and inspiration was most definitely provided by Andrea. An artist and educator, Andrea gave and taught me using creative methods she paints with, and encouragement and tips for objective evaluation so my inner critic didn’t get the best of me. Color theory, principals of art and design, and texture application with all kinds of tools and mediums were the highlight for me. The time for instruction and application of concepts I learned was well balanced. An added bonus was instruction on professional aspects for artists including digital portfolios, artist biographies and statements. Her studio and instruction space is AMAZING! 3 full days to learn and create is long but a necessary retreat to break down barriers I was experiencing in my own creative expression. I returned home inspired, with direction and purpose and have been painting ever since! I have a show in April!
